Did you know microbes silently fuel industries, drive ecosystems, and sustain life on Earth? On 17th September 2025, Eternal University, Baru Sahib, celebrated International Microorganism Day with an inspiring blend of science, creativity, and curiosity.

A Celebration of Science and Innovation

The event was hosted by the Department of Microbiology in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), IISc, turning the spotlight on the extraordinary role of microbes in our world.

  • Dr. Hemant Dasila’s talk on Microbes as Industrial Workhorses shed light on their role in biotechnology and production.
  • Prof. Nasib Singh’s MicroTalk titled Microbes: The Engines of Life showcased their importance in ecosystems.
  • Creative student skits & videos like “Microbes in Action” and “Amazing Microbial Avengers” added fun and learning.
  • Dr. Bharti Kukreti’s tribute to Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, the father of microbiology, honored the roots of this fascinating field.
