World Wildlife Day, observed annually on March 3rd, is a global initiative that underscores the need to protect and preserve the rich biodiversity of our planet. This year, the Department of Zoology, Akal College of Basic Sciences, Eternal University, Baru Sahib, celebrated the day with a series of lively and thought-provoking activities aimed at spreading awareness about wildlife conservation.
A Day Dedicated to Wildlife Awareness
The event was designed to instill a sense of responsibility in students towards safeguarding wildlife and their habitats. Recognizing the vital role of wildlife in maintaining ecological balance, the department encouraged the younger generation to actively contribute to conservation efforts.
Creative Competitions to Inspire Action
A total of 15 students participated enthusiastically in a variety of activities, showcasing their creativity, knowledge, and passion for nature. The events included:

These engaging activities helped students express their thoughts on wildlife preservation while learning about its significance in a fun and interactive way.
Recognizing Talent and Effort
All participants were appreciated for their contributions and enthusiasm. E-certificates were awarded to students securing the first, second, and third positions in the competitions, honoring their creativity and dedication. Furthermore, every participant received a certificate of participation as a token of appreciation for making the event a success.
