blog adminOn 28th June 2022, the Department of Physics, Eternal University, Baru Sahib, organized a unique educational visit to observe the “Prakti Air” device—a revolutionary innovation in clean cooking technology. This field trip was conducted to instill creative and eco-conscious thinking among postgraduate and research students, aligning with the university’s focus on sustainable science and innovation.
Academic Leadership Behind the Visit
The event was convened by Dr. Puneet Negi, Assistant Professor and Officiating Head, Department of Physics. The initiative received active participation and support from esteemed faculty members Dr. Poonam Kumari and Dr. Madan Lal.
Expert Interaction – Learning from the Innovator
Students got a chance to interact with Er. Leo Taranta-Slack, Product Development Engineer at Prakti Pvt Ltd, who provided a detailed explanation of the “Prakti Air” technology. His insights helped students understand how this device, when installed in traditional stoves, significantly reduces indoor air pollution, decreases fuelwood consumption, and shortens cooking time—paving the way for cleaner and efficient cooking practices in rural settings.
Students’ Enthusiastic Participation
Postgraduate students including Nivedita, Ayushi, and Nisha from the M.Sc. program, as well as Ph.D. scholars Ms. Gagandeep Kaur and Ms. Priyanka, took part in the visit. Their curious questions and active discussions with Er. Leo highlighted their deep engagement and interest in environmentally beneficial innovations.
