Tiny Titans, Big Impact – Eternal University Innovates with the Power of Microbes

Who really runs the world? Not humans, but microbes! These microscopic marvels are the driving force behind life, health, and industry—and Eternal University made sure they got their moment in the spotlight during the International Microorganism Day celebration.

Organized by the Department of Microbiology in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), IISc, the event buzzed with discovery, creativity, and scientific wonder.

MicroTalks that Sparked Curiosity

The day began with electrifying MicroTalks that revealed the hidden world of microbes.
Dr. Hemant Dasila described how these tiny organisms act as industrial giants, powering essential processes across sectors.
Meanwhile, Prof. Nasib Singh captured hearts and minds by calling microbes “the engines of life.”

When Science Met Creativity

Students brought science to life with innovative skits and short videos like “Microbes in Action” and “Amazing Microbial Avengers.” Their performances showcased the incredible ways microbes sustain ecosystems, protect human health, and drive innovation.

The celebration also paid tribute to Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, the pioneer of microbiology, honored by Dr. Bharti Kukreti in a heartfelt address.

Honoring Microbial Innovators

The Microbial Hall of Fame recognized the creativity and dedication of students who used their knowledge to make learning engaging and impactful.

Adding grandeur to the event were Prof. Kamal Kishore (Guest of Honour) and Prof. T.S. Banipal (Chief Guest), who joined 85 enthusiastic participants in celebrating the unseen champions of life.

Celebrating Science, Creativity, and Curiosity

From inspiring talks to creative showcases, Eternal University’s International Microorganism Day was more than an event—it was a movement celebrating curiosity, innovation, and appreciation for the smallest yet mightiest beings on Earth.

Because when it comes to shaping our world—microbes truly make the biggest impact!
