If pneumonia is preventable, why does it remain one of the leading causes of death worldwide?
This question became the guiding force behind the Health Talk & Awareness Campaign organized by the M.Sc. Nursing and B.Sc. Nursing (2nd Year) students at IGMC, Shimla.
Their goal was clear that equip communities with knowledge that protects, empowers, and saves.

Teaching Communities to Breathe Safely
The awareness drive focused on the four fundamental pillars of pneumonia prevention:-
- Vaccination Awareness – Understanding the power of timely immunization.
- Respiratory Hygiene – Simple habits that prevent life-threatening infections.
- Early Symptom Identification – Recognizing danger signs before complications set in.
- Community-Level Practices – Daily preventive actions that safeguard families and neighborhoods.
Through posters, one-on-one conversations, and interactive health talks, students ensured that every message reached the heart of the community.
Learning Beyond Classrooms – Students in Action
Walking through wards and speaking to patients and attendants, the students realized something profound that healthcare isn’t limited to stethoscopes and textbooks, it lives in empathy, it thrives in awareness, and it grows when knowledge is shared.
Their dedication turned information into empowerment, empowerment into protection, and protection into life-saving action.
Shaping Healers With Purpose
This initiative stands as a powerful reflection of Eternal University’s commitment to nurture healthcare professionals who heal with skill and serve with heart.
Every student who participated walked away not just wiser, but more compassionate, more responsible, and more inspired.
A Message to Future Students
