Young Minds Reflect on the Future of Science at Eternal University – National Science Day 2026 Essay Competition

Marking the spirit of curiosity and innovation associated with National Science Day, Eternal University, Baru Sahib organized an engaging Essay Writing Competition through the Akal College of Basic Sciences.

The event encouraged students to reflect on the evolving role of science in shaping India’s future and to articulate their ideas through thoughtful academic writing.

Theme Focus: Women in Science Driving Viksit Bharat

Aligned with this year’s theme “Women in Science: Catalyzing Viksit Bharat,” the competition created a platform for students to examine how inclusive participation in science and research can accelerate India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.

Participants explored the contributions of women scientists, the importance of equal opportunities in STEM, and how scientific leadership can contribute to national development.

Participation and Thought-Provoking Discussions

A total of 23 undergraduate and postgraduate students enthusiastically participated in the competition. Students selected topics from the official pamphlet and presented research-backed essays within the prescribed time limit.

The essays reflected

Critical thinking on contemporary scientific issues
Awareness of real-world challenges and opportunities in research
Insightful perspectives on the future of science and innovation in India

The event became a space where ideas flowed freely and young minds engaged in meaningful dialogue about science and society.

Academic Guidance and Event Coordination

The competition was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Kamal Kishore, Dean of Akal College of Basic Sciences, with academic support from Dr. T. S. Banipal, Dean Academics.

The event was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Rakesh Joshi along with the organizing committee, ensuring a smooth and engaging academic experience for all participants.

Encouraging Future Scientists and Innovators

Beyond the competition, the initiative reinforced the university’s commitment to nurturing scientific temperament, critical thinking, and innovation among students.
